About me
I’m Nova! I am a mixed-media crafter. My work lives at the intersection of festive experience, play, myth, and quiet rebellion. My pieces are often stitched and sculpted from the kinds of materials that hold a history such as found fabric, clay, beads, and scraps that all feel too meaningful to throw away.
I make queer, whimsical, nature-rooted art that honors all emotions. I craft talismans for presence, soft companions for rest, and tiny altars for the sacred. Whether it’s a hand-stitched little portal or a clay mermaid-cat sunbathing on a rock, each piece carries the time it took to make it and the intention stitched or sculpted into its shape. I create slowly and with care, so that each piece holds intention and carries its own story.
Mushrooms, the moonlight, clouds, forests and elements of deep ecology show up again and again in my work, not just as decorations, but as collaborators. I believe art can be a small act of resistance, a way of remembering we’re connected to the earth AND each other.
Illuminology Studio is my creative home and the place where all of this work comes to life. It’s more than a workspace: it’s a sanctuary where my experiences and the natural world inform every piece I make. When you bring one of my pieces into your life, you’re not just buying art. You’re carrying a story, a portal, and a reminder to slow down, laugh, take a deep breath, love yourself, and the world around you.
